YUVA assists migrant workers in gaining access to state welfare and social protection programs. Through door-to-door visits and camps, we make the application process easier. Workers can obtain their ID cards and become eligible for welfare schemes. We reach marginalized families in over 200 villages and an urban local body, bridging the gaps left by state and local government bodies.
In Maharashtra, our teams facilitated the filing of over 6,500 social protection scheme applications across 3 locations, resulting in a sanctioning rate of over 80% and entitlements totalling over INR 1 crore for migrant workers. This was achieved over 15 months from August 2021 to December 2022.
